Homicide investigation underway

At approximately 10:00 PM on Thursday July 2nd, 2020, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a stabbing that occurred on the 300 block of George Street, in front of the Prince George Courthouse.

Frontline officers arrived on scene immediately and found a 26 year old female suffering from what appeared to be at least one stab wound. Members administered first aid until paramedics arrived on scene. She was transported to hospital for treatment. Officers secured the area and the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit was called in to lead the investigation.

Earlier this morning, the victim passed away in hospital as a result of the injuries she sustained.

This investigation is in the early stages and significant resources have been deployed to assist. Police wish to speak to anyone that may have witnessed this incident or anyone that may have information.
